Amistosos Masc. y Fem. entre USA y PUR | Men’s and Women’s friendlies between USA and PUR

Los Seleccionados Nacionales Masculinos y Femeninos de Estados Unidos se preparan para su primera competición local desde enero de 2011 al recibir a Puerto Rico en una serie de tres días comenzando el 17 de ocbutre de 2013 en el Coliseo Memorial Beard-Eaves de Auburn, Alabama. La seir marca el segunco choque con Puerto Rico este año.


Cada día se hará un doble cruce iniciado por las mujeres y seguidas por los hombres tras una corta pausa. Los partidos serán de dos tiempos de treinta minutos cada uno y se jugará en la sede del Programa de Residencia del Equipo Nacional de Estados Unidos.


El Seleccionador Masculino, Javier García Cuesta, y el Femenino, Christian Latulippe, se mostraron muy felices de tener una competencia en casa por primera vez en más de tres años y con esperanzas de crear una gran base de fanáticos en la comunidad.


La mayoría de los jugadores en el programa de residencia se han mudado a Auburn para poder entrenarse a full time y ganar experiencia intentando lograr el sueño Olímpico.



The USA Men’s and Women’s National Teams prepare for their first domestic competition since January of 2011 as they host Puerto Rico in a three-day series beginning October 17, 2014 at the Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum in Auburn, Alabama. The series will mark the second match up against Puerto Rico this year.


Competition gets underway at 5:30 p.m. CT on Friday, October 17, and Saturday, October 18, before concluding at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 19.


Each day will consist of a doubleheader led by the women and followed by the men after a short break. The games consisting of two thirty-minute halves will be played at the home of the USA National Team Handball Residency Program.


USA Men’s head coach Javier Garcia Cuesta and USA Women’s head coach Christian Latulippe are both excited to have a home competition for the first time in more than three years, with high hopes to create a fan base within the local community.


“This weekend will be a great opportunity not only to gain playing experience but also to evaluate the talent and skill level of the National Players,” said Garcia Cuesta.


Head coach Christian Latulippe also has high expectations for the women’s team. “In the last match up against Puerto Rico, we fell short by two goals,” Latulippe said. “We want to show our improvements and make it known we are ready to compete.”


Most players in the residency program have relocated their lives to the Auburn community for the sole purpose of training full time and gaining experience to pursue their Olympic dreams.
